DETAILS
Full-length ballet "Aladdin" choreographed for the National Ballet of Japan by its former Artistic Director, David BINTLEY, in 2008 is back. This staging is a showcase of BINTLEY's style, characterised by its skilful blend of entertainment and artistry. First performed at the New National Theatre, this production was then performed by the Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Houston Ballet, winning international acclaim. In addition to the exquisite direction and choreography, this gorgeous production features the music by Carl DAVIS, which readily finds its way to the listener's heart. Full of dream-like scenes with the flying carpet and the appearance of the genie from the lamp, this is a ballet that will thrill young and old alike, including those new to ballet.

SYNOPSIS
A Souk in Arabia. Aladdin causes a huge scene and gets caught, but the Maghrib helps him. The Maghrib sends Aladdin into a cave in the desert to bring back a lamp, but Aladdin refuses to hand over the lamp and is trapped inside the cave.
When Aladdin rubs the lamp, the Djinn of the lamp appears. Possessing the power to grant the wishes of whomever holds the lamp, the Djinn of the lamp helps Aladdin to escape from the cave.
In love with the Emperor’s daughter, Princess Badr al-Budur, Aladdin summons the Djinn of the lamp and transforms into an extraordinarily wealthy man. A magnificent wedding ceremony is held for the pair.
The Maghrib comes by disguised as a beggar while Aladdin is out, and Princess Badr al-Budur gives the lamp away. The Maghrib summons the Djinn of the lamp and takes the Princess.
Chasing after the two of them and sneaking into a harem, Aladdin steals the lamp back. He rescues Princess Badr al-Budur, and they ride away together on a magic carpet.
