DETAILS
The Young Artists Training Programme run by the New National Theatre consists of three schools: the Opera Studio, the Ballet School and the Drama Studio. Each is highly regarded as Japan's top training programme for young artists. The three schools have recently launched a three-year-project with the purpose of presenting the fruits of our training to the world. In 2018, the project started with a Gala Concert: "LE PROMESSE 2018" by our Opera Studio and joined forces with young opera singers from the training courses at the Royal Opera (UK), Bayerische Opera (Germany) and La Scala (Italy). The aim was to provide the Japanese trainees an opportunity to co-star with fellow artists of the world.
In 2019, we are organising an "International Collaboration between Drama School Students in the UK and Japan" led by the director of our Drama Studio MIYATA Keiko, who has guided many international collaborations.
This time, our Drama Studio will present Ágota KRISTÓF's "The Monster" as an experimental performance in two languages (Japanese and English) in collaboration with Manchester School of Theatre (at Manchester Metropolitan University), known as the one of the leading drama schools in the UK.
This international collaboration will be an exciting event not only for the students, but also for you!
Don't miss this opportunity to see the best of young acting talent from both Japan and the UK!
