NNT Opera Studio "L'Impresario in Angustie"

NNT Opera Studio was founded in April 1998 as Japan's first ever theatre-affiliated training institute for those seeing a career in opera.
During the three-year period, trainee singers participate in a specially-designed programme, which includes coaching in languages, vocal techniques and acting, and are given an opportunity to appear on the stage of New National Theatre Tokyo three times a year.

This year, the students gave two concerts at Opera Palace and showed the fruit of their daily training in front of the audience.
As their final performance of the year and the first step to a professional artist, they will present Domenico Cimarosa's "L'Impresario in Angustie". The opera buffa, firstly performed in 1786, is often described as operatic farce and depicts the slapstick among an impresario and his cast and creative team who are preparing for a new opera for their theatre in Naples.
