"Women in Blue Stockings" is one of the author's best-known works depicting the spirit of the Taisho Modernist era. The first issue of "The Bluestocking", a literary magazine by women for women, was published with the opening line: 'In the beginning, women were really the sun'. This ensemble drama, directed by MIYATA Keiko, Director of NNT Drama Studio, portrays the women of the Blue Stocking Society including HIRATSUKA Raicho and ITO Noe, who led the women's liberation movement, and the people surrounding them including OSUGI Sakae and SHIMAMURA Hogetsu, who were part of the movement and went through the turbulent times.
