Der Besuch der alten Dame

It is our pleasure to present Friedrich DÜRRENMATT's masterpiece Der Besuch der alten Dame as the third part in the "Voices Stories exploring discussion, criticism, dialogue, and so on" series. First performed in 1956, this work became a hot topic as a poignant antithesis to society's tending towards totalitarianism. This notable piece has since been taken on by a number of different directors around the world and continues to be performed not only as a stage play, but also as a film, opera and musical.

What impact does dialogue with others, after repeated discussions, have on human interaction? What kind of society does it produce? This final work in the series is directed by GONOHE Marie, whose bold and unique direction of The Lower Depths at the NNTT is still fresh in our minds. We hope you enjoy it.
