DETAILS
This is the NNTT premiere of La Sonnambula by renowned bel canto opera composer Bellini. With a story revolving around a wedding in a mountain village in the Swiss Alps, this work features stunningly romantic and lyrical music, with numerous beautiful arias including "Vi ravviso, o luoghi ameni", "Ah! Perché non posso odiarti", and the climax, "Ah, non credea mirarti". This work is also striking for the use of the mountain villagers' chorus throughout, as well as scenes depicted with alternating aria and chorus.
A co-production with the Teatro Real, the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Teatro Massimo, this production was first staged in December 2022 in Madrid. Bárbara Lluch's production has drawn attention for her distinctively sensitive way of highlighting women's feelings in a closed-off mountain village.
It will be conducted by Maurizio Benini, a renowned master of Italian opera, who also conducted the first performance of this production in Madrid. The cast brings together top bel canto artists, with rising star Claudia Muschio in the role of Amina and the highly renowned Antonino Siragusa in the role of Elvino.

SYNOPSIS
Amina and Elvino will soon be married in a small, sleepy village in Switzerland. The innkeeper, Lisa, is also in love with Elvino despite his betrothal. Elvino's arrival, he signs a pledge dedicating his home and possessions to the marriage and gifts Amina his mother's ring. Suddenly, a stranger appears—Count Rodolfo in disguise, and Lisa suggests he stay at her inn. That night, Amina comes to the inn where Rodolfo is staying. While sleepwalking, she unknowingly gets into his bed. Doubting Amina's fidelity, Elvino calls for the wedding to be cancelled. Rodolfo is scrambling to prove Amina's purity. What will be the fate of these young lovers themselves?

Booking Z seats (Day tickets) 1,650 yen
- You are able to purchase Z seat tickets online from 10:00 am. Click "BUY TICKETS" next to "Z" under each performance information.
- There is a handling charge of ¥330 (incl. tax).
- Only when seats allocated as Z seats are still available at 11:00 am, you are able to purchase these tickets at the Box Office of the theatre.
- Note that all Z seats are on a first come, first served basis and will come with restricted views.
Concession Prices
Under 15s discounts and Z seats (Day Tickets) are available online. Other types of discount tickets are not available online. Please inquire at the Box Office or by telephone.
Please Note
- Latecomers will not be admitted to the auditorium unless there is a suitable break or interval.
- For Seat D of Opera performances, maximum of 2 tickets per person on the first day of ticket sale.
- No admittance to pre-school children. Each child older than this age requires a ticket for entry, even when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Tickets may not be changed or refunded except in the case of a cancelled performance.
