For today's Wozzeck performance on Monday, 24 November 2025, Thomas Johannes Mayer is unable to appear in the title role due to health reasons. Toshiaki Komada will perform in his place.
Thomas Johannes Mayer withdrew from the performances on 20 (Thu) and 22 (Sat) November as he had been advised to rest for health reasons, but it has since been determined that he now requires approximately one week of hospitalisation and treatment. Consequently, he must also withdraw from today's final performance.
We sincerely apologise to everyone who was looking forward to his appearance and kindly ask for your understanding.

After studying at the Aichi University of Education, graduated from the Department of Vocal Music, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, and then attained a master's degree there. Studied opera as the eleventh wave of graduates of the NNT Opera Studio. Also performed as Ein Musiklehrer in Ariadne auf Naxos for an NNT Opera Studio performance. Studied in Berlin on the Agency for Cultural Affairs' Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists. At a 2012 music festival in Groningen, the Netherlands, performed as Ramiro in Ravel's L'Herure Espagnole and won the Labberte-Hoedemaker Award. Awarded first prize at the 83rd Music Competition of Japan in the Voice Division. At the New National Theatre Tokyo, has performed as Fléville in Andrea Chénier, Johann in Werther, Curio in Giulio Cesare and Nikitich/a police officer (Hauptmann) in Boris Godunov, Schaunard in La Bohéme, Ein Steuermann in Tristan und Isolde and Papageno in Die Zauberföte. His appearances include Schaunard in La Bohéme in Tokyo and Papageno in Die Zauberföte at the ROHM Theatre Kyoto for the 2025 Educational Programme for High School Students in 2025, and Johann in Werther in 2026.
