FURUKAWA KazunoriFirst Soloists
FURUKAWA Kazunori was born in Hokkaido prefecture. He was trained by HAYASHI Mari and HAYASHI Sekiko at the Chiba Ballet Academy and ISHII Shiro at the Yotsukaido Ballet Academy. In 1994 he went to the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, founded by Maurice BÉJART, where he spent two years studying different disciplines including classic ballet, modern ballet and performance. After his return in 1996, Kazunori joined the Tokyo Ballet, where he remained for 12 years before leaving in 2008. In September of the same year, he joined the National Ballet of Japan as Soloist and was promoted to First Soloist in 2013.
