SHIMADA MasahikoLibretto
Graduated in Russia language from the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in 1984. Made his debut with "Divertimento for Gentle Leftists" in 1983 while still a student. His main works include "Death By Choice", "Taihai Shimai (Decadent Sister) " winner of the ITO Sei Prize for Literature, "Tsurezure Oji (Tedious Prince)", "Akka (Bad Money)", "Kyojin no Hoshi (False Start)" winner of the Mainichi Publishing Culture Award, "Catastrophe Mania", "Zetsubo Caramel (Caramel of Despair)", and others.
Has written the Libretto for many musical pieces, including "Chushingura" and "Jr. Butterfly". Has been one of the judges Akutagawa Award. Since 2011 Professor for the Faculty of Intercultural Communication, Hosei University.
Currently involved in writing the libretto for this 2020 special program at the New National Theatre, Tokyo.
