Cast change : Giuseppe VERDI "La Traviata" (16th to 28th November 2017)

Due to health reasons, Levente MOLNÁR has withdrawn from singing the role of Giorgio Germont in La Traviata from the 16th to 28th November 2017.

The role will be sung by
Giovanni MEONI.


One of the most acclaimed and sought-after Verdi baritones today, Mr Meoni appeared in the world's most important opera houses including Metropolitan Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Opernhaus in Zürich, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Liceu de Barcelona, NCPA in Beijing, Bolshoi Theatre, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall, Lyric Opera in Baltimore, Opéra de Nancy, Opéra de Liège, Opéra de Marseille, Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Regio in Turin and Parma, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Opera in Rome, San Carlo in Naples, and Arena in Verona. Active also on the concert side, he sang in important concert halls, including: Carnegie Hall in New York, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Münchner Philarmoniker in Munich, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space. He held recital in Milan, New York, London, Paris, Brussels, Madrid, Hong Kong, Bucharest and Sofia. Mr.Meoni regularly worked with conductors as Riccardo Muti, Fabio Biondi, Zubin Mehta, Myung-Wun Chung, Daniele Gatti, Daniel Oren, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Alain Lombard, Nello Santi, Donato Renzetti, Renato Palumbo and directors as Franco Zeffirelli, Hugo De Ana, Pierluigi Pizzi, Robert Carsen, Denis Krief, Giuliano Montaldo, Jonathan Miller, Beni Montresor, Alberto Fassini, Gilbert Deflò, Renzo Giacchieri.


Recent engagements include: Tosca in Verona; Aida (Amonasro) in Brussels; Rigoletto (title role) in Cagliari; Macbeth (1847) in Warsaw, Fabio Biondi conducting; Un Ballo in Maschera in Barcelona.

Among his future plans: Simon Boccanegra (title role) in Karlsruhe, Montpellier; Un Ballo in maschera (Renato) in Luxembourg and in Nancy; Nabucco in Montpellier and in Naples; Alzira in Liege; Tosca at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.
Giovanni Meoni began his piano studies at a very young age, and then he has completely dedicated himself to the singing studies under the guidance of Leo Ferri in Rome. A winner of many national and international vocal competition, Giovanni Meoni made his debut as Marcello in La bohème at the Teatro Vespasiano di Rieti (1991).
