The finale of our second season under Artistic Director Miyata Keiko is a work by the Nobel Prize-winning English playwright, Harold Pinter. His work has had an enormous influence on the currents of theatre the world over since he rose to prominence in the 1950s. Pinter was not only one of the leading playwrights in England, he was truly one of the greatest playwrights of the 20th century.

Featuring sharp, taut dialogue, Pinter's plays offer meticulous character studies and explore such themes as the threats to identity, the deceptions of society, and the instability of human relationships. His work continues to strike at the heart of today's audiences in the 21st century.

Fukatsu Shiegefumi will direct. Fukatsu left a vivid mark with his previous work on Doin Sowa and Zou, and audiences can expect a thought-provoking production in The Hothouse.
