Under the name of "Mister Musical", Stephen SONDHEIM's Passion comes at last to the New National Theatre, Tokyo. The original was first performed in 1994, and won the Tony Award for Best Musical, Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play, Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre. On the heels of last year's Threepenny Opera, Passion, too, features the double whammy of MIYATA Keiko as the stage director and SHIMA Ken as musical director.
Is love "just loving someone" or is love "being loved for all you're worth"? World-class figures in the world of musicals, INOUE Yoshio, KAZUNE Miou, Sylvia GRAB, and FUKUI Kiichi, will come together on an Italian stage setting to portray in sparkling colours the love between and man and a woman. Not to be missed!
