Of the operas penned by MOZART, Die Zauberflöte is one of the most famous, with some of the best known arias, part-singing and other passages.
It was written at the behest of the actor and singer SCHIKANEDER, also a promoter of art for the people in what was a society dominated by aristocrats. Commissioned for performance in Schikeneder's theatre, the Magic Flute is one of opera's most loveable works.
This is conductor Roberto PATERNOSTRO's first appearance at the NNTT. As in the 2013 production, the entire cast is of singers from Japan. The performance makes ample use of the NNTT stage construction, with dynamic production by Michael HAMPE.
