The NNTT's 2014/2015 season sees the start of the series, "Drama for Two─The Power of Dialogue" in which three young stage directors each direct a highly appraised modern drama for two actors.

The first is The Breath of Life by English playwright David HARE. It opened in London in 2002 starring Maggie SMITH as Madeleine and Judi DENCH as Frances. The two great actresses'joint performance gained such a reputation that it broke the West End record for number of performances of a straight play.

The Breath of Life is about a wife and her husband's mistress, who confront each other with opposing takes on life. In a drama bursting with affirmation, both eventually start out anew. All eyes are on HOURAI Ryuta, a playwright as well as stage director, and how he presents this work.

After the Tokyo performances, further performances are planned at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center and other venues.
