"Marjorie Prime" opened on 7 Nov.

This is the latest in our series of presenting Japan Premiere of Western plays at the NNTT. This fifth play in the series is "Marjorie Prime" by rising American writer Jordan HARRISON. In this series, we have selected plays that touch on various issues but focussing on the "current" state of the world. In the same vein, "Marjorie Prime" addresses the universally human topic of "growing old", experienced equally by all, portrayed through the conversations of the four characters.

This story of a family who uses an Artificial Intelligence to bring back their deceased relatives nominated Pulitzer Prize in 2015. The play was made into a film in 2017 and won Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize in Sundance Film Festival. Our Artisitic Director of Drama, MIYATA Keiko, has staged the last scene as the dialogue of memories.

"Marjorie Prime" runs till 26 November.
