Cast change : MOZART "Le Nozze di Figaro" (20- 29 Apr. 2017)

Due to personal reasons, Markus WERBA has withdrawn from singing the role of Figaro in "Le Nozze di Figaro" from the 20th to the 29thApril 2017.

The role will be sung by Adam PALKA.

Adam PALKA was born in Poland and studied at the Music Academy in Gdansk.

In 2005 he became a member of the Baltic Opera in Gdansk where is sang Sparafucile in "Rigoletto", Colline in "La Bohème" and Leporello in "Don Giovanni". In 2007 he received a scholarship from the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in Spoleto and took part in the Zurich Opera Studio. In 2008 he made his debut at the Warsaw Opera House as Sparafucile. The same season he performed Collatinus in "The Rape of Lucretia". From 2010 - 2013 he was an ensemble member of the Deutschen Oper am Rhein, where he performed, amongst others: Don Basilio in "Il barbiere di Siviglia" , Colline in "La Boheme". In June 2012 he was praised by the press for his debut as Leporello in the new production of "Don Giovanni" at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. Engagements in the 2012/2013 season include Don Basilio in "Il barbiere di Siviglia" at the Opera de Lille and Figaro in a new production of "Le Nozze di Figaro" at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Since the 2013/2014 season Adam PALKA is an ensemble member of the Staatsoper Stuttgart and was heard there as Alidoro, Conte Rodolfo in "Sonnambula", Leporello and Gremin. In the 2014/2015 season he sung Don Basilio in "Il Barbiere di Siviglia", Colline in "La Boheme" and Conte di Walter in "Luisa Miller" at the Staatsoper Stuttgart, as well as Publio at the Opera of Saint-Etienne and Walther Fuerst in "Guillaume Tell" at the Teatr Wielki Warsaw. In season 2015/2016 he had big success as Ferrando in "Il Trovatore" at Opera Toulon.

He will make his debut appearance at the New National Theatre, Tokyo as Figaro.
