The tragedy of Cio-Cio San, who devoted herself to single-minded love.
This is the popular work of Puccini, well known for its aria "Un bel dì vedremo/One fine day". Kuriyama Tamiya's production is simple yet beautiful. It will talk eloquently about the single-minded love and tragedy of Cio-Cio San, together with Puccini's mellifluous and dramatic music. The role of Cio-Cio San will be sung by Alexia Voulgaridou, a beautiful soprano singer who played the same role for her first time in Hamburg in 2012 and received great acclaim. Mikhail Agafonov, who gave a much-lauded performance in our 2010 production of "Andrea Chénier" in the title role, will play Pinkerton. On the podium will be Keri-Lynn Wilson, who is taking active roles in the Vienna State Opera and Bavarian State Opera, winning attention from all over the world.
