SAITO Miho was born in Niigata and trained under WATANABE Tamami, TAKANO Hiroko and MAKI Asami. After her time at Tamami Watanabe Ballet School she moved to A. M. Students in 1999 to continue her studies, then enrolled at the New National Theatre Ballet School in 2001. Upon completion, she joined the National Ballet of Japan as Soloist in 2003. In January 2004, she made her debut as the leading role at the age of 21, the youngest ever member of the National Ballet of Japan. Her repertory includes leading roles in the classics Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Giselle and Swan Lake as well as major roles such as Pas de Trois in Swan Lake and Princess Florine in Sleeping Beauty. She also received the 2009 Swan New Comer Award.
