Entered in "Tenshikan"(school of Butoh under Akira Kasai) in 1977.
In 1981 took Classic ballet lessons by late Hirofumi Inoue.
In 1989 invited by Daniel Larrieu (French comtemporary choreographer) to study at Centre National de Danse Contemporaine d'Angers. In 1994, with "inflection" he was finalist for the Choreographique Internationales de Bagnolet. He founded his company "rosy CO." in 1996.

Practiced Butoh under Butoh dancer Anzu Furukawa in 1987, and started his solo work in 1990.
In 1995 establised his own dance company Kim Itoh + Glorious Future.
In 1996 won the International Choreography Award and National Advisory Panel Award for the 5th Rencontres Choréographiques Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis.
He has now been conducting several tours annually both in Japan and abroad.
