| You, who dance, are I. |
Kim Itoh expresses the unusual in ordinary daily life and various forms of human
existence by adding a touch of sarcasm and his characteristic humor, pursuing
his own unique physical expression. Winning the International Choreography Award
in Bagnolet, France, led the up-and-coming choreographer to abruptly expand his
sphere of activities to the world and energetically publish new works, and he
will appear at the New National Theatre, Tokyo again.
Kim Itoh's charm is condensed in the three works selected based on the theme,
"you and I", the smallest unit of communication. These include
the Japanese premiére of Butterfly and Me, which was performed
and created a sensation at the Melbourne Festival in October 2000.
In January this year 2002, Kim Itoh has won the Terayama Shuji Award for
the 1st Asahi Theatrical Art Prize.

ITOH KIM
Practiced under Butoh dancer Anzu Furukawa in 1987, and started his
solo works in 1990.
Has been active in collaboration with musicians and artists.
In 1995 established his own dance company Kim Itoh + Glorious Future.
In 1996 won the International Choreography Award and National Advisory
Panel Award for the 5th Rencontres Choreographiques Internationales
de Seine-Saint-Denis.
He has now been conducting several tours annually both in Japan and
abroad.
