CHUSHINGURA "The age of peace turns into a disruption."
Chushingura is a piece by Saegusa Shigeaki, the outstanding composer in Japan.

The raid on Kira by 47 members of Ako's samurai can be traced back to the bloodshed that took place in the Matsu Corridor of the Edo Castle. As the preparation for the raid progresses, they spend in various ways. In order to gather information for the raid, Okano Kin-emon keeps a relationship with Otsuya, the daughter of the master carpenter who has built Kira's mansion. And he is sure that their love will be over one day. Another of the samurai, Hashimoto Heizaemon, executes his love, Ayaginu, who begs her own death rejecting their break-up for the raid. He says, "You will be in my heart forever."

Chushinngura, the stories of the 47 samurai have been handed down from generation to generation. It took for 10 years to produce a Japanese opera, Chushingura with beautiful music, which focuses on the love stories of the two couples. Its premiere in 1997 was highly admired, and the opera's CDs have been released in 27 countries worldwide. This time, Hirao Rikiya, who has succeeded in his stage direction at the Pit, directs Chushingura at the Opera House.
