I hope you all had a nice, relaxing summer and you are ready for a new exciting season of the New National Theater, Tokyo. This year we are studying the fate of women. The opening production will be the verismo classical operas Cavalleria and Pagliacci. In both operas the fate of the heroines touches our hearts, like no other opera. Mr. Asagaroff and Maestro Ban are creating a touching production emphasizing very strong on those fates. The cast consists of outstanding voices from Japan and Europe, led by Ms Fiorillo and one of the greatest tenors Giuseppe Gicomini. We, all the artists and the members of the NNTT wish you all an unforgettable performance and we are all looking forward to welcoming you, when the curtain raises for an exciting season 2004/05 at your New National Theater, Tokyo.
