NNT Opera Studio was founded in April 1998 as Japan's first ever theatre-affiliated training institute for those seeing a career in opera.
Trainee singers are given an opportunity to appear on the stage of New National Theatre Tokyo from the first semester at the Opera Studio, in order to acquire the skill to perform as opera singers.
This year, trainee singers entered the studio in 2015, 2016 and 2017 present the Opera "Don Giovanni Tenorio, or The Stone Guest" composed by G. GAZZANIGA which was first performed in Venice in 1787. Its libretto written by Giovanni BERTATI became the basis on the famous "Don Giovannni" libretto written by Lorenzo Da PONTE and music composed by Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART.
