Introducing English surtitles for the opera "The Magic Flute"
To commemorate the opening of the first season of ONO Kazushi as Artistic Director of Opera, we are introducing English surtitles for two performances of MOZART's masterpiece "Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute)".
ONO has chosen this production by South African visual artist William KENTRIDGE, who has taken the opera world by storm, staging productions at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Salzburg Festival. Blazing new trails in its bold incorporation of imagery, this production had its world premiere at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels in 2005 and has since gained worldwide popularity, with performances at La Scala in Milan and the Aix-en-Provence Festival.
